The 2017 Cyclone Taylor Cup has arrived, with round robin action kicking off on Thursday.
The tournament will see hosts the Creston Valley Thunder Cats and Champions from BC’s three Junior B leagues battle it out for top spot in the province.
T-Cats Coach Jeff Dubois says despite his team earning an automatic spot, they are just as hungry.
He recognizes they have taken a different path to get to the tournament but knows they are ultimately a team that has had great success at home.
Dubois adds they get a lot of confidence from being in a place where they are comfortable, playing in front of their fans and believes everyone is pretty positive going in.
The Coach says the team has used the three week break since their last game to heal up and recharge and thinks from a competitive stand point, they are expecting three tough teams.
He adds at the same time however, looking at regular season performance numbers and depth charts, his team is convinced that they are going to compete.
Creston finished the regular KIJHL season atop of the Eddie Mountain Division and were eliminated by the Kimberley Dynamiters in the second round of the playoffs.
The Thunder Cats will first face off against the Aldergrove Kodiaks of the PJHL.
Puck drop is 7:30 pm PST at the Creston and District Community Complex, Thursday.
