The Western Hockey League is expected to review the new ownership application for the Kootenay ICE Thursday.
A special in-person meeting is scheduled following news last month that the Chynoweth family entered an agreement to the WHL to sell the franchise.
The ICE organization has been owned and operated by the Chynoweths since 1995 when it was based out of Edmonton.
President and GM Jeff Chynoweth announced they received an offer from Winnipeg entrepreneur Greg Fettes and True North Sports and Entertainment executive Matt Cockell.
Neither side would comment on the potential deal, however, it was reported Cockell plans to relocate his family to Cranbrook, and take over the role of President and General Manager and will be responsible for all business and hockey operations of the Club.
The transfer of ownership is conditional of approval of the WHL Board of Governors.
