Jared du Toit, Individual winner at The Prestige at PGA West
Kimberley’s own Jared du Toit is looking to make some noise on the Canadian tour after wrapping up his college career at Arizona State University this year.
Du Toit says graduating university hasn’t really set in yet but he’s excited to travel Canada in his first year as a pro golfer.
The young golfer says looking back the dream of being a professional was a distant one but development and a strong work ethic has made it a reality.
“Getting down to Arizona and having access to all the resources I had and being fortunate enough to develop my game the way I did over the past four years and [now] having this be a realistic option is something I’m very excited about.” says du Toit.
Du Toit explains he got into college golf for an education and to travel but now everything has changed.
“Pro golf, I think now is kind of a reality and it’s kind of cool to look back to where I was four years ago and see where I am now.” says the Kimberley native. “It’s definitely exciting stuff and I’m definitely excited to give it a go.”
The young golfer says playing in the Canadian Open again this year is one of his main goals.
Du Toit hopes he can return home to the Bavarian City sometime this summer to play a round at his favourite course, the Kimberley Golf Club.
