Brandon James Blackmore and Emily Ruth Gail Blackmore were convicted in February for trafficking their underage daughter over the border to be married to another member of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
The incident occurred in 2004 when the former husband and wife took their then 13 year old daughter into the US.
The ruling was the first of its kind in Canada.
James Oler, who is a former leader of Bountiful, was acquitted of a similar charge.
A Supreme Court judge in Cranbrook said the Crown failed to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Oler crossed the border in 2004 with a then 15-year-old girl who was later married to another member of the church.
However, the special prosecutor in the case as applied for that decision to be overturned or a new trial be held.
