Fernie Search and Rescue were needed after a woman fell from a wooden structure while mountain biking.
SAR was called just before 12 pm on Sunday after the mountain bike rider landed on her head and face, suffering facial and suspected spinal injuries.
The volunteers used a UTV, then hiked for about five minutes to reach the site of the incident.
The woman was transported on a spinal board and a wheeled stretcher off the trail network.
She was transferred to an ambulance to be taken the rest of the way to Elk Valley Hospital.
No word on the extent of the woman’s injuries.
