The BC Ombudsperson will be in Cranbrook Friday.
Jay Chalke is touring his so called complaint clinic across the Province to talk to anyone who feels they’ve been treated unfairly by the local and provincial governments or a BC public body.
He says that includes any Ministry part of the BC Government, Interior Health, Crown Corporations such as ICBC or BC Hydro, and Regional Districts.
The Ombudperson explains good examples of the complaints they receive involve people who have applied for a license or benefit but have been turned down without reason or explanation of what was expected of them during the process.
Chalke, who has held the role since May 2015, says each year they help about 7,500 British Columbians.
The BC Office of the Ombudsperson is the province’s independent voice for fairness.
If you would like to set up an appointment you can call toll-free 1-800-567-3247.
Chalke has also made stops in Salmon Arm, Revelstoke, Golden and Invermere during his tour.
