Smoke from fires in our region and elsewhere has brought a Special Air Quality advisory back to the East Kootenay.
The Province, in collaboration with the Interior Health Authority, has expanded a Smoky Skies Bulletin north including Invermere and south including Cranbrook.
Smoke is causing poor air quality and reducing visibility. Smoke is expected or occurring.
Concentrations are expect to vary widely as winds, fire behaviour and temperatures change.
You’re encouraged to avoid strenuous outdoor activities.
Exposure is particularly a concern for infants, the elderly and those who have underlying medical conditions such as diabetes, and lung or heart disease.
This bulletin will remain in effect until further notice.
