The latest defenceman to join the Kootenay ICE is 20-year old Jordan Henderson.
The veteran D-man spent last season between Spokane, Saskatoon and Medicine Hat.
Henderson says he found out about the trade Wednesday morning when he got a call from Tigers GM & head coach Shaun Coulston.
“Obviously hearing that news in the morning, its mixed emotions.” says Henderson. “Playing in Medicine Hat finishing off my 19-year old season was pretty fun but moving on and heading to [Cranbrook] I’m really excited to be a part of the city and the team as well.”
He plans to take on a leadership role with the team this season.
“Heading in there in my 20-year old year I want to be a role model in the locker room and as well on the ice.” explains Henderson. “Just do the right things and make some good plays and limit my mistakes out there.”
Henderson will bring experience to the blue line with over 150 WHL games under his belt.
The overager is +8 with 36 points in three WHL seasons.
