RCMP in Nakusp are searching the East Kootenay for more victims of a historic sexual assault case.
Police in Victoria arrested 70 year old Harry Charles Sadd last August in connection to a series of alleged sexual assaults from the 1960s and 1970s.
Corporal Dan Moskaluk says it was during that period he spent time in the Kootenays.
He says they are now searching for more victims in both the East and West Kootenay.
“It was confirmed that Harry Sadd resided in the Nakusp area from the 1960s on into the 1970s,” Moskaluk says. “Given that there’s multiple alleged victims that have come forward to date, there is a strong possibility that there might be other individuals that were victimized by Sadd while he resided in the Nakusp area.”
The former youth badminton coach was involved in various community groups in the Nakusp area.
Sadd currently faces 23 counts of indecent assault and one count of sexual assault from 12 victims.
He has been previously convicted for sex assaults involving young men.
Anyone with more information is asked to contact their local police detachment.
