The Kimberley Dynamiters are rounding out their exhibition schedule tonight at home against Creston Valley.
The Nitros will be cutting down their 16 forwards to 13 and finalizing their roster following tonight’s game.
Six veterans will be sitting out tonight to give borderline players a final shot at proving themselves worthy.
“We’re going to make [cuts Tuesday night] after the game and try to give they players that unfortunately don’t make it an opportunity to move on quickly.” says Head Coach Derek Stuart.
Stuart says he was pleased with the effort in their 7-5 win over the Thunder Cats last Tuesday.
“First period was very typical exhibition, first period, first game effort and nervousness” explains Stuart. “As the game went on we got better and in the last half of the third I thought we were really good.”
This will be Kimberley’s first game in front of a home crowd since last year’s Conference Final against Beaver Valley.
“It’ll definitely give them a little boost energy-wise.” says Stuart.
Puck drops Tuesday night at 7:30 at the Kimberley Civic Centre.
The Nitros get their regular season rolling Friday night at home against Columbia Valley.
