Environment Canada is forecasting snow overnight Sunday in the Elk Valley and continuing through Monday.
A special weather statement is in effect as a storm which will give winter weather to much of southern Alberta will also affect southeastern BC.
2 cm is expected to accumulate by Monday morning but another 5-10 cm is predicted throughout the day.
Snow is expected to be mixed with rain, and the temperature is slated to reach a high of 2 degrees.
Environment Canada says with the temperature hovering just above zero, the snow may be quite wet at times.
As we move further into the week, temperatures will climb up to 18 degrees by Friday.
