A look at the scoreboard would say the Kimberley Dynamiters were perfect over the weekend but their head coach disagrees.
The Nitros beat Castlegar 3-2 Friday and Golden 5-0 Saturday.
Derek Stuart says a sloppy start against Golden could have ended up much worse.
“I thought we were terrible and they were real good.” says Stuart. “It was a couple of our younger guys that played without any fear and went hard all night but other than that I’m trying to forget this game already.”
Cody Campbell was a brick wall in net versus the Rockets stopping all 20 shots.
“He made us some big saves when it was 1-0 and 2-0.” says Stuart. “That’s the luxury of having a guy like Cody is when the team’s not going he keeps you in there and is able to keep making saves.”
Meanwhile the Fernie Ghostriders also picked up a pair of ‘W’s over the weekend.
The Riders beat Beaver Valley 6-4 Friday and topped Castlegar 4-3 Saturday.
Both teams are back in action next weekend for a pair of games.
Kimberley will hit the road to play the Spokane Braves and Grand Forks Border Bruins.
Fernie will host the Columbia Valley Rockies before heading to Castlegar for a rematch with the Rebels.
