A presentation in Fernie Thursday aims to teach local business owners how to attract and recruit employees.
Many businesses in Fernie are understaffed according to a study done by the Chamber of Commerce in August.
Chamber Executive Director Patty Vadnais says the event will hopefully help improve tools for attracting employees.
“This presentation is going to go through things like sourcing candidates, where are the best places to post your job as well as marketing your business to candidates.” says Vadnais. “Rather than just the traditional job posting and job boards how do you make sure that your job posting gets noticed and stands out from the number of job postings that are there.”
Executive Director Patty Vadnais says Kim Carter will be speaking and has over 20 years of HR management experience.
“We just want to give businesses the tools that will help them succeed and this is one of the things where finding a new way to get in front of a new job audience is going to help.” explains Vadnais.
The event starts at 10 AM Thursday at the Fernie Visitors Centre.
