A driver in Invermere was arrested for impaired driving after allegedly admitting to drinking “16 beers.”
RCMP were helping a vehicle out of the ditch last week when they were approached by a pickup truck.
Officers went to speak to the driver and noticed a strong smell of alcohol from the cab.
Police say the man admitted to how many drinks he had, before being taken to the local detachment.
He failed two breathalyzer tests and was arrested for impaired driving.
The man had already been prohibited from driving due to previous impaired offenses.
He is scheduled to appear in court in February.
