An annual charity in Cranbrook is trying to raise $53,000 all in a single day.
The 2017 Turkey Drive goes Thursday in the Key City and the Chamber of Commerce says there’s a need for more than 850 Christmas Hampers locally.
Organizer Jason Wheeldon explains proceeds will be split between the local food bank and Salvation Army.
Anyone can call the Chamber office 8:30AM to 4PM during the one-day blitz, and Wheeldon says a $20 donation will make a major difference.
The annual fundraiser is coming off a lot of momentum from last year, collecting a record $61,000 and surprassing the previous bench mark of $48,000 in 2015.
However, Wheeldon points out one of the agencies involved had a major fundraiser fall threw this season and they are pushing to fill the gap through the Turkey Drive.
Donations will be accepted until Christmas.
