A long-time Kootenay ICE veteran says he’s excited to join a championship contender.
Vince Loschiavo was traded to the Moose Jaw Warriors in exchange for prospect Jakin Smallwood and a draft pick on December 11.
The 19-year old spent almost four full seasons in Cranbrook posting 89 points in 215 games.
The former assistant captain says it was tough to say goodbye but he’s ready to take the next step in his junior career.
“I know Kootenay was a lot better this year and making a playoff run but it’s also nice to come to the Moose Jaw Warriors who are in first place right now.” says Loschiavo. “I’m just looking to do whatever I can to help with their success.”
Loschiavo has definitely helped thus far tallying three goals in three games since joining the Warriors.
The veteran forward says he’s leaving behind a lot of friends and great memories in Cranbrook.
“I’ll miss a lot of things obviously like the city, my billets, the whole team, the coaching staff and management.” says Loschiavo. “It was a bit tough to leave but I’m also excited to be here in Moose Jaw.”
Moose Jaw is at the top of the WHL with a 27-6-1-1 record and is ranked second in the entire Canadian Hockey League.
