A 16-year old Fernie Ghostrider is excited for the extra exposure this weekend at the KIJHL Prospects Showcase.
Ethan Jang is the lone Rider making the trip to Kelowna this weekend.
The rookie forward has posted seven goals and three assists in 30 games this season.
Jang says playing for Head Coach Craig Mohr has been a huge benefit for him on the ice.
“He gives me lots of confidence with all the drills we do.” says Jang. “We’re starting to do some new drills so that kind of helps everyone out.”
Mohr was selected as Manager for Team Kootenay Conference in the Showcase.
Jang – a product of Rossland – hopes the showcase will help him in taking the next step in his junior career.
“I hope to make Junior A next year then hopefully move on to get a scholarship, if not we’ll just see how it goes from there.” says Jang.
Jang joins fellow Eddie Mountain opponents Brock Palmer (Kimberley), Harrison Risdon (Kimberley), Levi Mitchell (Creston Valley), Kyler Shmigelsky (Columbia Valley) and Johnny Elias (Golden) who will all be in Kelowna for the showcase.
The prospects game will be played Saturday at 3 PM.
