The Kootenay ICE put their three game win streak on the line against Edmonton Wednesday.
Kootenay is coming off back-to-back home wins against Brandon and a 7-3 rout of the Lethbridge Hurricanes.
The last time the ICE lost was 5-1 to the Oil Kings.
Forward Cam Hausinger says they need to be ready to play despite the difference in the standings.
“We have to come with compete because it’s a team we can’t take lightly.” says Hausinger. “They’re a good team when they want to be and if we underestimate them they’re going to get the best of us.”
Kootenay is third in the Central with 49 points while Edmonton is last with 33.
Hausinger has points in each of his last three games and has eight in his last 10 games.
He credits great chemsitry with his linemates Brett Davis and Alec Baer as well as help from Head Coach James Patrick for his recent success.
The ICE are 7 for 18 on the man advantage over their last five games and Hausinger says it’s all about keeping things simple.
“As long as we don’t try to do to much [and] just get pucks to the net and try to find those lucky bounces or when the puck squirts out to one of our guy’s sticks.” says Hausinger.
Wednesday’s game is live on The Drive starting with the pre-game show at 6:35.
