A public meeting in Cranbrook next week will help form BC’s first Poverty Reduction Strategy.
Residents are invited to talk about best solutions to address the issue locally and across the province.
Ideas shared at the forum will be used to develop the strategy which is expected to be released this fall.
The province is asking questions like, “what can be done to reduce poverty?” and ” how can we contribute to economic and social inclusion?”.
British Columbia’s poverty rate is one of the worth in the country.
The meeting will be held 4:30 – 7 PM next Thursday, Feb. 8th, at Cranbrook’s Senior Citizens Hall.
