A late third period comeback fell short for the Kootenay ICE Tuesday night.
The ICE lost 5-3 to the Saskatoon Blades to open their Saskatchewan road swing.
Kootenay trailed 4-1 late in the final frame but Colton Veloso and Peyton Krebs scored to bring the ICE within one.
It would ultimately fall short as the Blades’ Chase Wouters would seal the deal with an empty netter.
Veloso had a point on all three goals while Krebs and Colton Kroeker both picked up a pair of points.
Kootenay is now 23-27-3-0 on the season and remains third in the Central Division.
The ICE are back in action Wednesday in Prince Albert.
