Elk Valley RCMP are asking for the public’s assistance in finding out what sparked a suspcious fire at the Fernie Recreation Centre.
Mounties were called to the facility late Saturday night after someone noticed a garbage can engulfed in flames by the pool entrance.
The blaze damaged the main entry into the building but was put out before it could cause any further harm.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Elk Valley detachment or Crime Stoppers.
