The Kootenay ICE were swept in a home-and-home series versus the Lethbridge Hurricanes.
The ICE fell 4-1 on home ice Sunday after losing 5-2 on the road Saturday.
Colton Veloso scored the lone goal for Kootenay in Sunday’s 4-1 loss while Hausinger and Kohler scored Saturday.
Forward Sebastian Streu says they didn’t get a ton of scoring opportunities Sunday.
“Their goalie played a great game but we also kind of made him look good.” says Streu. “A lot of pucks hit him right in the chest or were ice burners. He still played a great game, good for him, but our shots have to be better. We have to start picking corners and scoring goals.”
The season series versus the ‘Canes finished 6-1 Lethbridge.
Streu still believes the ICE are the better team.
“We can definitely beat that team but for some reason when they day comes that we play against them we always come up short.” explains Streu.
Kootenay’s record now falls to 25-33-3-0 on the season. The ICE now find themselves out of playoff position, two points behind the Red Deer Rebels.
The ICE are back in action Tuesday in Medicine Hat.
