The Kimberley Trails Society is receiving $10,000 dollars to go towards a new trail on Bootleg Mountain.
The funding comes from the BC government’s Rural Dividend grants.
The path will climb to the top of the top of the trail network at Bootleg Mountain.
The recreation site is a popular area for hiking and mountain biking in the summer.
Nearly $700,000 will be spread across the province in support of cultural, social and infrasturture projects in rural areas.
Over $100,000 of that money will be injected into projects in the Kootenays.
