Black ice and winter driving conditions are being reported across the region.
RCMP were called just around 7:30 AM Thursday morning after a semi-truck went into Moyie River near Yahk.
The driver is said to be uninjured and the incident is not affecting traffic.
The Southeast Kootenay School District has confirmed a school bus carrying 15 children left the road between Jaffray and Sparwood Thursday morning.
The district says the incident was minor and another bus picked up the kids, who were uninjured.
The regional highways maintenance contractor says the forecast presents a risk of ice formation on regional roads, particularly near sundown and sunup.
Mainroad East Kootenay says motorists can expect slippery and slushy sections can be expected throughout the region over the 18-24 hours which will be filled with precipitation.
Drivers are asked to slow down.
