The Kimberley Dynamiters have jumped ahead of the Columbia Valley Rockies two games to none in the Eddie Mountain Divison final.
The Nitros defeated the Rockies 4-1 on home ice on Wednesday night.
Forward Brock Palmer scored a hat trick in the winning effort.
“It was awesome!” exclaims Palmer. “I had to go back and get my stick [afterwards] and all the crowd was cheering, it felt pretty good.”
The 18-year old now has 15 points in seven playoff games and leads all active playoff players in the league with 2.1 points per game.
Palmer was happy with the team’s effort, especially in the third period.
“I thought we actually [played] pretty good.” says Palmer. “We came out a bit flat but at the end we definitely started bringing it on, scored some goals and everything was going pretty well.”
Kimberley has outscored Columbia Valley 9-2 in the opening two games but now face a tough task in taking on the Rockies in Invermere.
Game three is Friday at the Eddie Mountain Memorial Arena in Invermere.
