The Kimberley Dynamiters can punch their ticket to the Kootenay Conference final with a win Monday night.
The Nitros lead the Columbia Valley Rockies three games to one in the best-of-seven Eddie Mountain Division final.
Kimberley failed to close out the series Saturday when they lost 1-0 in Invermere.
Head Coach Derek Stuart says they need to work more as a team.
“I believe we had six two-on-ones and didn’t get a shot on four of them so we need to start shooting the puck and keeping it more simple.” sats Stuart.
Stuart says he likes the effort from the first four games and they want to end the series on Monday.
“In our mind we felt like we did enough to win last game just couldn’t get it done so we’re really excited to just pick up where we left off in the third [period] of game four.” explains Stuart.
The Dynamiters plastered 19 shots on Rockies netminder Ben Kelsch in the final frame of game four but the 19-year old puck-stopper wouldn’t budge and earned the shutout.
Kimberley has outscored Columbia Valley 12-4 this series.
The Dynamiters have yet to lose a playoff game at home this year.
