The Kimberley Dynamiters are Eddie Mountain Division Champions.
The Nitros defeated the Columbia Valley Rockies 5-2 Monday night to win the series four games to one.
Forward Matt Davies says they stuck to their game plan and it paid off.
“We weren’t making the prettiest plays, we weren’t trying to do too much so we just kind of had to grind through that win and ended up getting a good result.” says Davies.
Davies says the Rockies didn’t go down without a fight.
“They’re definitely hard to play against.” says Davies. “They’re not the prettiest team, they kind of try to muscle some pucks out of you and play a tougher game along the walls but we kind of matched them and that’s how we got the good result.”
Davies had a pair of goals in Monday’s winning effort – his first two of the postseason.
The Dynamiters take on the Nelson Leafs in the Kootenay Conference Final after Nelson defeated Castlegar 5-2 Monday to take their series 4-1.
This is the fourth straight year Kimberley is in the Kootenay Conference Final. It all gets started Friday at the Kimberley Civic Centre.
