The College of the Rockies Mens volleyball team is reflecting on a trying season on the court.
The Avalanche finished with a 5-19 record and were eliminated in the first round of the PACWEST Championships.
It was the first season leading the team for Head Coach Cisco Farrero.
Farrero feels it was a good season despite the lack of success.
“The group of athletes I was able to work with have completely bought in and they were open.” explains Farrero. “Some of them, this being their fourth coach in four years, that’s not easy for stability but we were able to sort of find it and we were able to work for one another and together. I think that really bodes well for the future.”
Farrero says his first year as Head Coach of the Avalanche was everything he could have asked for.
“I’ve been welcomed with open arms by the city of Cranbrook and the community.” says Farrero. “It’s been quite enjoyable and I can’t wait to see what we can build here.”
Matt Cespedes led the Avalanche in kills per set (2.45) and kills (201).
The COTR Mens team has already secured seven commitments for next season.
