The contractor killed at an Elk Valley mine has been identified.
70-year-old Pat Dwyer of Lundbreck, Alberta was recovered from a tailings pond at Teck’s Fording River Operations Wednesday.
Dwyer died Monday when the floating excavator he was operating flipped over and trapped him under water.
The company says Dwyer had a career spanning more than 50 years in equipment operation and excavation.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
