Five local RCMP officers are being recognized for their efforts to keep impaired drivers off the road.
They are being honoured in Kelowna Wednesday as part of Alexa’s Team.
Constables Adolf Mohr and Chelsea Reinburg with the Columbia Valley RCMP are receiving the honour, along with Constable Clint Corbeil out of Cranbrook.
Constables Maggie Banich and Bob Roy with the East Kootenay Traffic Service are also being recognized.
Alexa’s Team honours officers that have taken at least 12 impaired drivers off the road through a Criminal Code Investigation or Immediate Roadside Prohibitions.
It was formed back in 2008 after four year old Alexa Middelaer was killed by a drunk driver in the Lower Mainland.
