A linksman from Cranbrook is off to a hot start on the Kootenay Pro Tour.
Chris Medford won back-to-back events to open the season.
Medford was victorious at the St. Eugene event last weekend shooting an even 72 (E), one stroke ahead of second place.
This after he claimed his first win of the season at Fairmont Riverside in April with a score of 66 (-5), also one stroke ahead of second.
Medford says winning two events to start the year was a surprise even for him.
“This is definitely the start that everybody dreams of.” says Medford. “Just to win one was a great accomplishment but two in a row, it’s a shock to me!”
The 35-year old says one of his goals this season is to win the Kootenay Tour.
“Obviously off to a great start so that definitely helps but there are eight events throughout the season so the majority of events are still ahead and I just have to put one round together and put the next round together.” says Medford. “It’s a lot of hard work to be able to win the Kootenay Tour but with that being said it’s a goal so I’m going to work towards it and take it one shot at a time.”
The next stop on the Kootenay Pro Tour is June 11th in at the Fernie Golf Club.
