Columbia Valley RCMP say they were prepared for the annual Victoria Day weekend storming of the Windermere Lake beaches.
Cpl. LP Gendron says the area has always been popular with long weekend revelers.
He says “throughout the weekend we received numerous calls linked to those gatherings involving minors consuming liquore, mischief, assistance with injuries and a couple house parties that got out of control.
Gendron says each call was handled with care and in most cases youth complied with their direction.
He adds there were some instances where those who didn’t comply were issued tickets or given a “time out” in a police vehicle.
Gendron says none of the injuries they tended to were serious in nature.
