You may notice a few more people than usual outside of Cranbrook’s Amy Woodland Elementary School this afternoon.
That’s because there’s a protest happening to remind drivers to obey posted speed limits and pay attention while going through school zones.
The protest is in response to the school’s Traffic Suzie having been struck by a vehicle last week.
One of the protest’s organizers says the cardboard traffic control tool has been struck 10 times over the past 5 years.
It goes from 2:45 pm – 3:30 pm on 11th Avenue.
