The East Kootenay Foundation For Health is celebrating an over $127,308 donation for Columbia Valley care facilities.
The money was donated by the Invermere Health Care Auxiliary and will support hospitals in Invermere and Golden and the Columbia House retirement home.
Executive Director Brenna Baker says this will help purchase needed equipment.
“Its a wide range of things, all the way from calf cutters to chairs that go in the shower to power wheelchairs,” Baker says. “They donated a bath tub to Columbia House. Its a special bath tub that’s over $20,000.’
This isn’t the first time the Health Care Auxiliary in Invermere has made such a large donation.
They donated over $218,692 to their community last year.
Volunteers with the Invermere Health Care Auxiliary clocked 22,147 hours in 2017, with the executive team putting in 6,482 hours of their time.
