Interior Health is reminding residents to take steps to keep mosquitos off their property.
The pests are particularly fond of stillwater as it gives them a place to breed.
Residents should change water in bird baths twice a week and unclog rain gutters, drain traps, tires or other debris where rain water is known to collect.
IH warns that some mosquitos in Canada can carry the West Nile virus but the risk of becoming seriously ill from the infection is very low.
