A hiker alone on Fisher Peak needed the help of Cranbrook Search and Rescue to come back home.
SAR responded around 10 pm Thursday night to a man stranded on the region`s largest peak.
He was able to rest for the night on the mountain before rescue crews could mobilize.
The SAR team left at 4:30 am Friday to help guide the hiker down.
The man had no injuries, he was just unsure of his skills to descend the mountain.
Cranbrook SAR is reminding backcountry enthusiasts to be prepared when going on long hikes.
They say you never know when you might have to stay overnight in nature.
