2010-09-03 Possibility of more bear sightings in future
(By the Broadcast Center News Team) The many bears seen in Cranbrook this past week could be the start of things to come. That's the warning from Conservation Officer Joe Caravetta. He says with bears getting ready for hibernation, you may see more of the large animals coming into town to find food to bulk up for the winter. "We certainly ask the public to use the 1-800 number, the 1-877-952-7277, to let us know if they see them. We'd like to ensure that there is nobody in harm's way." Four bears have been spotted in the city of the past week, including a black bear that had to be put down near Pinewood Elementary on Wednesday. | |
