Kimberley’s Jared du Toit is taking home some hardware after a great first year on the pro circuit.
du Toit captured the Dan Halldorson Trophy over the weekend which is awarded to the top canuck of the year on the PGA Mackenzie Tour.
The 22-year old earned the award after finishing T-17 (-10) in his last tournament of the year, the Freedom 55 Financial Championship in London, Ontario.
“There was a lot of solid Canadian guys that I kind of looked up to that have been on the tour so to be among the best out there was very cool for me and something I’m very proud of.” says du Toit.
The Kimberley native had his best weekend in July at the Mackenzie Investments Open in Mirabel, Quebec where he finished T-7 (-10).
“I played a pretty solid year but I think there is definitely quite a bit of room for improvement.” explains du Toit. “I can think a lot of parts of my game that still need work so it’s exciting to see the results but it’s even more exciting to see that there’s room for improvement.”
Next on the schedule for du Toit is the Web.com Tour Qualifying School.
