The area restriction for the Flathead area southeast of Fernie is being rescinded Friday.
The Province says it’s lifting the ban, as of 1 PM, due to recent changes in weather conditions and fire behaviour.
However, in the interest of public safety, they will continue to keep the Wigwam Forest Service road closed from the junction with the Lodgepole Forest Service Road.
This will extend south to the junction with Cabin Creek Forest Service Road.
BC Wildfire Service crews are still trying to get control of fires in the area.
