A pipeline disruption in the Chicago area is pushing up gas prices in our region.
This according to Senior Petroleum analyst Dan McTeague with Gasbuddy.com as costs rise to an average of $1.25.9 a litre throughout the East Kootenay.
McTeague explains there are issues at a number of American refineries that cannot get back online after outages.
This has caused US demand to sky rocket and prices across North America to be affected.
He admits this is an odd pressure for the fall season.
