The Kimberley Dynamiters are on home ice all weekend taking on Eddie Mountain Division rivals.
The Fernie Ghostriders are in town Friday followed by the Columbia Valley Rockies Saturday.
Captain Brett Roberts says both games will be crucial to win.
“We have to bounce back from last weekend and we’re going to make sure we’re prepared and ready to go and give the home fans a better game than last Saturday.” says Roberts.
The Nitros were destroyed 8-1 by Creston last weekend losing four players to suspensions in the process (Purdy, 7 games; Risdon, 5 games; Palaga, 2 games; Farmer; 1 game).
Captain Brett Roberts says everyone has to step up and fill in the holes.
“As the captain I need to make sure those guys are ready to go and they know that the games aren’t going to be easy.” says Roberts. “Just make sure they’re not nervous, they’re relaxed and play their game.”
The division-leading Dynamiters traded for Colby Sherlock from the Columbia Valley Rockies Thursday and he will immediately come into the lineup.
Sherlock has seven points in 19 games this season and has 33 points in 94 career KIJHL games with the Rockies.
2001-born defenceman Jackson Bohan will also be called up from the Kootenay Ice of the BC Major Midget League.
Bohan has played one game with the Nitros this season and registered two penalty minutes.
Bohan has five points through 16 games with the Ice this season.
Friday’s game versus the Fernie Ghostriders will be broadcasted live on 99.1 The Drive.
