Our region’s highways maintenance contractor is warning holiday travelers of severe winter conditions this week.
Mainroad East Kootenay suggests we can expect continued furries over the next 36-48 hours followed by significant snowfall until Thursday.
They say this will impact their entire service area, with the highest accumulations forecast for the Highway 93/95 corridor from Yahk to Radium.
Mainroad adds temperatures are expected to drop well below the -10C range.
Environment Canada forecasts periods of snow beginning Sunday night across our region and lasting through Wednesday.
