Cranbrook RCMP is recommending charges after a complaint of a bloodied man carrying an axe around the downtown core Friday night.
Police say the suspect was arrested without incident, and his injuries were the result of a previous altercation and unrelated to the axe.
RCMP confirm with The Drive newsroom they are not investigating a homicide linked to this matter.
They say the suspect is known to police.
