A local hotel has been recognized as one of Canada’s top 25 small hotels.
Travel website TripAdvisor has released their annual awards list, recognizing Elizabeth Lake Lodge in two categories.
The amenity came in second in the Top 25 Small Hotels category and ninth for Top Service across Canada.
“In the early days it was wonderful because it really helped garner that clientele.” says Owner George Freitag. “Now it is a reinforcement that we are doing things that our guests really appreciate.”
Abbotsford’s Brookside Inn Botique Hotel placed first in the Small Hotels category and Montreal’s Ritz-Carlton took the cake for Best Service.
“It’s neat to be compared to some of the properties that are on the list sharing the awards with us.” says Freitag. “Many of which I’ve admired for some time.”
Freitag says they’ve been ranked by the site nine years in a row now.
“The first couple of years we were considered [in the] Best Bargain category.” says Freitag. “These last seven years we’ve managed to stay in the Best Service category.”
