The Captain of the Cranbrook Fire Department has been identified as one of two victims killed in a crash near Yahk.
The department announced in a Facebook post Sunday that Clayton Murrell died in a collision Saturday.
Murrell’s wife Joan is said to be in critical condition and has been airlifted to Kelowna.
RCMP say two people were killed when a semi truck collided with a pick-up pulling a trailer with two horses around 9 AM Saturday.
The driver of the semi truck was a man from Edmonton however his identity has not been released.
The two horses were also killed in the incident.
Police say winter road conditions and driving to fast for conditions may have been a factor in the incident.
