The deadline to vote for Fernie to win a quarter million dollars in arena upgrades is this weekend.
Residents want to make their community the next “Kraft Hockeyville” after they lost access to Memorial Arena in October.
A suspected ammonia leak that killed three men closed the facility to the public.
Multiple communities throughout western Canada have thrown their support behind Fernie such as Wilkie, Saskatchewan and Lumby, BC.
Many local groups have also voiced their voiced their support for the Elk Valley community.

A rally was also held in the community January 31 to gather residents together in support of the arena contest.
Voting ends Sunday at midnight.
