The College of the Rockies Mens volleyball team’s playoff hopes are still alive.
The Avalanche split a pair of matches against the University of Fraser Valley (3-2, 0-3) over the weekend.
Head Coach Cisco Farrero says it was a nail biting weekend.
“All the sets were pretty tight.” says Farrero. “We served quite well, we had a fairly specific game plan for some things against UFV and the guys executed it really well, especially on Friday.”
Farrero says this gives them a chance at earning the sixth and final playoff spot.
“We’re definitely happy with a split.” says Farrero. “We’re still alive and now we have to wait and see if [Columbia Bible College] wins a game because they have the tie-breaker with us.”
COTR leads CBC by a single win in the standings for the final spot.
The Mens team can make the playoffs if Columbia Bible College loses both their games next weekend.
Meanwhile the Womens team also split their weekend against UFV (3-1, 0-3) but have already clinched their spot in the postseason.
