A man is facing charges after Columbia Valley RCMP says a drunk driver became aggressive with a Conservation Officer who was just trying to help.
Police were called last week after the CO stopped to assist a driver whose vehicle was stuck off Highway 93/95.
The CO noticed a heavy smell of liquor and an open bottle of whiskey on the passenger seat of his vehicle and decided to arrest the driver.
However the 6’2 230lb suspect did not cooperate and still tried to leave with friends.
RCMP arrived and were able to escort the man to the detachment.
The suspect was said to be hostile, so he was held in custody until he sobered up and calmed down.
