The Kootenay ICE look to get back in the win column when they host the Moose Jaw Warriors Wednesday night.
The ICE are losers of five straight and have won twice in fourteen games this month while the Warriors come in as the top-ranked team in the Western Hockey League.
Head Coach James Patrick says they want to play to the level of the their opponent.
“We beat this team here before and this year we’ve played [really] well against some real good teams.” says Patrick. “We have played much better at home and we’re just going to need our best effort from everyone and we might need a great game from our goalie.”
Patrick says they need to take advantage of having last change at home.
“When we get in our third set of defense or our fourth line or third line [of forwards] against their top line it’s created some problems so I think our matchups are going to be real important.”
Kootenay is four points behind the Red Deer Rebels for a playoff spot. The Rebels play host to the Calgary Hitmen Wednesday night.
The Rebels have been surging in the month of February with an 8-3-1-0 record.
The ICE and Red Deer clash on Friday in Red Deer for the first of three against each other within the last eight games on the schedule.
