A woman is safe and sound after Search and Rescue were called out this weekend near Kimberley Alpine Resort.
RCMP and SAR received a report of a lost skier around 6:30 PM Saturday.
A group told officials they were separated from a friend at approximately 2PM when she travelled out of the resort’s boundaries, and she had yet to return.
A team of 14 volunteers went into the mountainous terrain around KAR’s maintenance area.
The woman was contacted shortly after 9PM, but RCMP say it was difficult and slow process to reach her due to deep snow and dense bush.
Members were able to give her warm gloves, food and snow shoes so she could walk out.
The woman is said to have been cold, tired and scared but she did not need any medical attention.
